Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operations is Canada’s largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation.

Reporting to the Senior Recruiting Coordinator, the Recruiting Coordinator (12-Month Contract) will support full-cycle recruitment across a high volume of operational, technical, and professional roles at Highland Valley Copper.
This role is critical in supporting sustained hiring demand, managing a high requisition load, and ensuring an efficient, consistent, and high-quality recruitment process. The successful candidate will partner closely with hiring managers and HR to deliver timely hiring outcomes while maintaining strong candidate experience and alignment with Teck’s values.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for Staff and Hourly roles, ensuring timely and effective placements.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements and create engaging job postings.
- Source and attract candidates through HRIS, social media, recruitment platforms, and campaigns.
- Screen applicants, coordinate interviews, and present qualified shortlists to hiring teams.
- Facilitate reference checks, pre-employment medicals, and onboarding in coordination with third-party providers.
- Prepare and deliver offer letters and maintain accurate candidate records in the HRIS.
- Partner with Corporate Recruitment, Talent Acquisition, and Centralized Recruiting for strategic alignment and co-op hiring.
- Support inclusive hiring by working closely with local Indigenous communities and organizations to help connect candidates to job opportunities.
- Ensure recruitment activities comply with employment law, collective agreements, and Teck’s Code of Ethics.
- Represent HVC at career fairs and events, support onboarding processes, and maintain recruitment tools and resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (HR focus) or a related field is an asset; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 2+ years’ of full-cycle recruitment experience, preferably in industrial, mining, or high-volume environments
- Proven ability to manage a high volume of requisitions while maintaining quality and timelines
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels
- Experience recruiting for a range of roles including operations, trades, technical, and professional positions
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands
- Experience using applicant tracking systems and recruitment tools (experience with Xref or similar platforms considered an asset)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- CPHR designation or progress toward designation is considered an asset
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range: CAD $85,000 - $105,000 per year
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
Working Conditions:
- Location: Highland Valley Copper is a 50-minute drive from Kamloops, which has all of the comforts of city living and is also close to Merritt, Ashcroft, and Logan Lake, which all exude a small town community atmosphere.
- Access: This is a drive-in/drive-out role. Most employees commute to site by car, and carpooling is common among team members.
