Process Control Network Specialist - RACE21

The Process Control Network Specialist is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of efficient network systems infrastructure and applications in a heavy industrial setting. This role involves actively seeking to understand business and operations customer requirements and facilitating and crafting appropriate solutions that provide valuable contributions. It will also require analysis of operating data, troubleshooting problems, and initiating corrective actions.


To be successful, we are looking for someone with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, who will implement effective leadership abilities to mentor and advise others on the use of control systems. This role requires someone who collaborates well with a team, and who can multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. A superior ability to apply various technical solutions, troubleshooting techniques and overall problem-solving skills to improve process operation and tackle operational issues is vital.

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Implement Industrial Control System configurations and strategies to meet operations' requirements securely
  • Provide leadership and guidance on the design and modifications of process control network hardware, applications, and plant data system processes to improve and ensure worker health and safety, network security, product quality, environmental protection, and plant production
  • Complete routine control systems maintenance checks of software and hardware, troubleshoot system failures, and provide repair and upgrade services to ensure availability of the applications and network systems to meet operational needs
  • Collaborate with operations personnel and process engineers to modify and improve process control logic, graphic interfaces and systems that facilitate improved operator efficiency
  • Support maintenance and project groups to facilitate planned work and upgrades in an operating plant
  • Advise operations and technical personnel to define, implement and enforce standards, guidelines, and procedures relative to process control networks and plant data systems
  • Engage and work closely with the Site Process Control group, and Operational Technology support groups
  • Interconnect seamlessly with diverse control systems



  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Automation, or related Engineering field, and a minimum of ten years of relevant of experience
  • Preference will be given to applicants who possess certifications in one or more of the following areas: A+ Computer Technician, Networking Fundamentals, MCSE, Cyber Security or demonstrated experience
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in configuration and maintenance of process network systems in an industrial plant (ICS, ITIL, Change Management, Cyber Security and Virtual Infrastructure)
  • A solid understanding and demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and repair for Microsoft Windows server, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Office Suite and PowerBI
  • A good understanding of industrial communication protocols (OPC, Modbus, HART)
  • Configuration and programming knowledge of PLCs, Human Machine Interface (HMI) for industrial plants, and data Historians
