Maintenance Engineer

We are currently recruiting for the position of Maintenance Engineer.

 

Reporting to the General Supervisor, Planning and Reliability in Mobile Maintenance, the Maintenance Engineer is responsible for design and project management activities related to the mobile maintenance fleet. The Maintenance Engineer will work together with representatives from all departments across the mine site to ensure that the projects and support provided are completed to the requirements of all stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Demonstrate courageous leadership by promoting a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with Teck Health, Safety and Environmental Programs and the BC Mines Act;
  • Provide technical expertise to effectively carry out a variety of engineering services and projects for a mobile fleet. Typical projects involve; Assembly and commissioning of new equipment, Design modification to existing equipment or buildings; 
  • Develop project scopes, business cases, budgets and execution plans for asset replacements; 
  • Implementation of special maintenance programs and control of technical results;
  • Oversee hourly workers for projects and supervise on-site contractors as required. 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognized post-secondary institution;
  • Eligible for membership as a Professional engineer in the Province of BC;
  • Prefer 5 years of relevant experience favoring a background in mobile maintenance; 
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Solidworks, Microsoft Office are considered an asset;
  • Experience in supervising on-site contractors;
  • Demonstrate administration and strong project management skills;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to ensure the successful implementation and management of all projects with the ability to work within a multi-discipline team;
  • Ability to be flexible and manage a variety of assignments and situations simultaneously;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
