We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Lead Management Accountant to oversee and elevate our management accounting function. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial performance reporting across the site. The ideal candidate is a finance professional with excellent analytical capabilities, proven leadership experience, and a deep understanding of financial planning and control in a complex operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Lead the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to inform critical business decisions.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration by embedding finance professionals within operational teams and improving financial literacy across the organization.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of cost accounting systems, ensuring accurate cost allocation and analysis.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts; identify variances and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ensure financial reporting and controls are compliant with IFRS, internal policies, and audit standards.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and analytics using tools such as Power BI and Excel to support business insights.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing timely and accurate financial data and documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in management reporting processes, tools, and systems.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of management accountants and analysts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation plus 5+ years of senior professional experience in Finance with an emphasis on industry.
  • Proven history of leading a team of Finance professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex financial data, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated success in building cross-functional relationships and driving business performance through financial partnership.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and strong attention to detail is required.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing deliverables with minimal guidance.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical management behaviors and business and reporting practices
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Salary Range: CAD $119,340 - $147,420 per year

 

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
