Reporting to the Lead, Training and Standards, the Lead, Autonomous Haulage Systems Training is responsible for developing and delivering training programs that support the effective use of MineStar Command for Hauling and dispatch systems across the operation. This role ensures that operators, supervisors, and control room personnel are equipped with the knowledge and skills to maximize system performance, data accuracy, and operational efficiency.
You will play a key role in building digital competency across the mine—bridging the gap between technology and operations to support safe, consistent, and high-performing execution.
Key Responsibilities
Training Program Development & Delivery:
- Design and deliver training programs for MineStar Command for Hauling, fleet management systems, site aware, terrain, and dispatch protocols tailored to various roles (controllers, builders, haulage supervisors, etc).
- Maintain up-to-date training materials that reflect current system configurations, workflows, and operational priorities.
- Facilitate onboarding and refresher training sessions to ensure consistent understanding and application of digital tools.
- Conduct competency assessments and provide hands on feedback and coaching to maximize trainee skills and progression towards mastery.
System Knowledge & Support:
- Act as a subject matter expert for MineStar and dispatch systems, providing guidance best practices, and troubleshooting support to end users.
- Collaborate with Operations teams to ensure training aligns with system updates and operational changes.
- Monitor user performance and system interaction to identify training gaps and improvement opportunities.
Operational Integration:
- Support the integration of digital systems into daily operations by ensuring users understand how to interpret and act on system data.
- Promote best practices in delay coding, equipment tracking, and digital map usage to improve data quality and operational decision-making.
- Assist in calibrating system settings and workflows to match operational needs and improve user experience.
Continuous Improvement:
- Gather feedback from trainees and stakeholders to refine training content and delivery methods.
- Analyze system usage trends and dispatch performance to identify areas for targeted training.
- Support initiatives that enhance digital literacy, operational discipline, and system reliability.
Safety & Leadership:
- Be a courageous safety leader—model and reinforce safety standards in all training and system use.
- Foster a culture of learning, accountability, and digital readiness across the mine site.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to users, encouraging confidence and competence in system use.
Qualifications
- Completion of Gr.12 or equivalent
- Minimum five years of open pit mining
- Experience in operating and training Caterpillar’s Autonomous Haulage Ecosystem: Minestar Command For Hauling, Minestar Fleet, Terrain and Site Aware
- Knowledge of the B.C. Mines code
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task and excel in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Change agent, moving quickly and independently from analysis to action.
- Strong communication (both written and oral), organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to multitask and keep accurate records of all training
- Possess a valid driver’s license
Assets
- Strong understanding of training program fundamentals including design, initial implementation, execution, and continuous improvement.
- IAuditor and Success Factors experience
- Knowledge and training on Autonomous Haulage System
- Knowledge of fleet management systems (Command, Fleet, or MineStar) would be considered an asset
- B.C. Shift Boss and blasting ticket, or B.C. Mine Supervisor certification or equivalent
- First aid and transportation tickets
- Strong organizational and computer skills

Salary Range: CAD $119,000 - $148,000 per year
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
