About Highland Valley Copper
Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operations is Canada’s largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation.

Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Supervisor, the Journeyperson Instrumentation Mechanic is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and compliant instrument operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
- Install and calibrate instruments used for measurement and control in production.
- Repair and maintain process control field instrumentation.
- Troubleshooting of instrumentation devices.
- Perform in a team-orientated environment with various trades.
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Instrumentation Mechanic with Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement
- High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED), or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in an industrial environment preferably in mining
- Valid Driver’s License
- Experience with control systems, DCS and PLC experience would be a definite asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be willing to work shift work
Pay Range: CAD $56.61 per hour
Working Conditions:
- Location: Highland Valley Copper is a 50-minute drive from Kamloops, which has all of the comforts of city living and is also close to Merritt, Ashcroft, and Logan Lake, which all exude a small town community atmosphere.
- Access: This is a drive-in/drive-out role. Most employees commute to site by car, and carpooling is common among team members.
