Reporting to the Mill Electrical Supervisor the Journeyperson Electrician is responsible for the following: 
 

Responsibilities

 

  • Be a Courageous Safety Leader, through promotion and adherence to established Safety and Environmental policies and procedures 
  • Perform in a team-orientated environment with various trades    
  • Electrical maintenance, construction and troubleshooting
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment
  • Construct, maintain, alter, repair, and test electric or electronic systems and components that are integral to the operation’s mining activities 
  • Perform duties that range from routine preventative maintenance on mining equipment to repairing major breakdowns in a shop or a field environment
  • Shift work may be required.

Qualifications

 

  • Journeyperson Interprovincial Electrician with Red Seal Endorsement
  • PLC knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controls (PLC), variable frequency drive (VFD), motor control center (MCC), and microprocessors 
  • Understanding of the Electrical Code 
  • Familiarity with reading electrical schematics and prints 
  • Previous mining experience an asset
  • Valid Driver’s License
