Contracts and Procurement Manager - Studies and Sustaining

Reporting to the Director of Contracts and Procurement for the Teck Projects Group (PG), the Contracts and Procurement Manager – Studies and Sustaining will be responsible for leading the contracts and procurement function during the early stages of project development (Scoping and Pre-Feasibility), as well as for the sustaining capital projects portfolio across our business units.
The position is based at the corporate offices in Santiago, Chile, under a hybrid work model, on a 5x2 schedule, with occasional travel to sites and corporate headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, operate, and improve contracting and procurement processes aligned with Teck's global strategies.
- Lead contractual and procurement planning for studies and sustaining projects, ensuring effective delivery of critical services.
- Design and implement efficient contracting strategies and delivery models that maximize value and mitigate risks.
- Manage and develop specialized teams and ensure integration with functional areas such as Legal, Risk, Regulatory Compliance and Operations.
- Serve as a technical and strategic reference for contractual matters within the organization, promoting high standards of safety, compliance, and performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder relationship skills.
- Professional degree in a relevant discipline; postgraduate studies (MBA desirable) will be valued.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in contract management for capital projects, ideally with EPC/EPCM companies and owner project teams.
- At least 8 years of experience leading teams on contracts and procurement areas in an owner’s role.
- Advanced knowledge of pre/ post award project logistics.
- Proven field experience and in global environments.
- Advanced knowledge of contracting models, commercial negotiation, risk management, and project logistics.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish, oral and written.
