Role Overview
Supporting the Wellbeing Community of Practice (Wellbeing COP) at Teck, the Employee Wellbeing Coordinator (Part-Time) plays a key role in supporting the organization’s global wellbeing strategy by coordinating initiatives, strengthening site-level engagement, and ensuring alignment across programs that promote physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.
This role partners closely with Health & Safety, HR, Communications, and site leaders to drive consistent, meaningful programming that supports a healthy and engaged workforce.
This is a part-time role with an expected schedule of 20 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
- Coordinate monthly Wellbeing Committee meetings (book meetings, take minutes, follow up on action items, ensure up to date membership, etc.)
- Work with sites to understand their employee wellbeing activities for shared learning.
- Help develop and execute 3-5 employee wellbeing campaigns a year in partnership with the Communications team.
- Conduct periodic environmental scans of relevant industry and non-industry players for ideas to guide our own activities.
- Support any integration related opportunities on employee wellbeing.
- Support deployment of mental health first aid training for corporate sites as needed.
- Maintain the global wellbeing initiatives calendar and support coordination of events and campaigns.
- Track engagement metrics and assist with reporting on program outcomes and participation.
- Draft and coordinate internal communications related to wellbeing initiatives.
- Support the development of toolkits and resources for site-level wellbeing champions.
- Assist with logistics for wellbeing workshops, webinars, and events.
- Collect and share best practices and success stories from sites across the organization.
- Support employee feedback collection (surveys, focus groups) related to wellbeing initiatives.
- Support disability management reporting and audit.
- Occasional travel to site may be required.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in HR, employee engagement, wellness programming, or event coordination preferred.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Health Promotion, Psychology, Communications, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proactive and able to work independently, demonstrating strong initiative in leading and advancing wellbeing projects with minimal supervision.
- Ability to establish relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable balancing multiple priorities and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel); experience with SharePoint or intranet content management is an asset.
- Interest in employee wellbeing, mental health, and workplace culture.
Pay Range: CAD $68,000 - $84,000 per year
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
