Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), Shovel and Drill Maintenance

Industrial Mechanics (Millwright) of the Shovel Crew will have the outstanding opportunity to help maintain our shovel and drill fleets, including North Americas first Komatsu 4800 shovel.

 

To be successful, we are looking for someone who is comfortable working in an outdoor setting in all weather conditions, has strong interpersonal skills and has the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities: 

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Work closely with all other trades to acquire the highest availability and reliability of our fleets
  • Perform all associated duties including regular scheduled preventative maintenance, couplings, alignments, major component exchanges, and diagnosing break down issues on the shovel and drill fleet
  • In certain components of this role, it is mandatory to wear a respirator which requires an interference free seal 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson’s Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certification 
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license, or equivalent, without learner’s restrictions
  • Previous mining experience is an asset 

 

Base Earnings: $119,000 - $129,000 

 

Base earnings include the hourly wage plus applicable shift premiums and will differ depending on location. It is calculated using a reasonably expected number of hours worked per year. 

 

Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
