Reporting to the Lead, RACE21™, the Electronics Technician is responsible for ensuring infrastructure requirements met to advance RACE21™ initiatives.


To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with strong communication and interpersonal skills, who can communicate clearly to employees at all levels and technical backgrounds. Someone who is a motivated self-starter who can adapt and work well with a team.


In this role you will have the opportunity to work with departments across our operations and define projects in front line technology deployment. You will be driving cutting edge technologies at site, working along side other project-oriented employees who are passionate about digital deployment.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Install and maintain electronic equipment, such as data radios, Wenco Pit Control equipment, GPS systems, PLC based control systems, field equipment, shovel payload systems, various communication devices and infrastructure, instrumentation, and machine monitoring systems
  • Develop standard methodologies, job procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines
  • Work with multidisciplinary group to pilot new technologies and processes throughout the development, installation, and monitoring phases
  • Deliver training and mentorship as needed
  • Manage technology projects and deployments

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in communications, electronics, instrumentation, industrial automation and controls, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to research new technologies and make recommendations for implementation, system upgrades, and improvements
  • Experience with installation and troubleshooting of computer hardware such as communication infrastructure like Wi-Fi, GPS, Auxiliary and Mine Intelligence systems (Carlson, Bench Manager), Tire Monitoring systems (Tyresense), and Equipment Health monitoring systems (MEMS)
  • Strong digital literacy, proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite®, with the ability to learn various types of software
