Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a Community Relations Intern
Position will be based in Anchorage; work schedule will be Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Reporting to the Superintendent, Community Relations
Key Responsibilities
• Attendance: The incumbent is expected to arrive at 8:00am, Monday - Friday (unless otherwise stated by supervisor) and promptly when returning from lunch and/or breaks.
• Overall assistance with administrative support in community relations goals
• Assisting with village events logistics and planning
• Assisting with file maintenance of events
• Assisting with writing articles and summaries for internal distribution
• Assisting with Red Dog’s Village Engagement Program as assigned
• Travel to Red Dog mine and surround communities
• Presenting final assigned project to community relations department and management team
• Attending NANA Shareholder Weekly Internship workshops
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent with the intent or currently enrolled in college or vocational school for the following 2026 fall semester.
• Interest in social sciences, environmental sciences, anthropology, or business administration is preferred.
• Strong interest in community relations
• Proficient with MS Office and database entry
• Knowledge of the NANA region preferred
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong work ethic, self-motivated, dependable, and punctual
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Positive attitude and enjoy working with new people
• Professional demeanor, able to take direction and feedback
