Reporting to the Coordinator, Integrated Reporting, the Business Intelligence Developer Temporary will be responsible for developing and implementing data structures, visualization solutions, and business applications for the Red Dog Mine Operations. The successful candidate will be part of a small, driven team enabling the operation to use information to increase business value.
As a Developer, you will collaborate with roles from across the operation to help these business owners take data and transform it into information that can then be used to create value and reduce waste and create applications to solve business's needs.
This role will be based out of Anchorage, requiring up to 15% travel to site. This position is based out of the Anchorage Teck office with a Monday – Friday work schedule
Responsibilities:
• Contributing member to a business improvement team passionate about delivering value to the business
• Support Red Dog’s Management Operating System with reporting and business applications
• Access, structure, and transform data to support value creation
• Perform data validation to ensure data correctness
• Create new, and enhance, improve, and optimize existing Power BI reports
• Design and develop reports using best standards for data management and visualization
• Build business application solutions using Power Platform best standards
• Continuous learning to keep your skillset sharp in a rapidly evolving technical area
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Minimum two years’ experience in building various business intelligence solutions with a focus on Power BI reporting and PowerApps business applications
• Advanced SQL skills: ability to construct complex SQL queries to collect and shape data from relational databases, including performance troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Power BI ecosystem including reporting constraints with Power BI service, Licensing options, Data Gateways, Workspaces, Apps, Dataflows
• Able to use DAX to construct calculations in Power BI including a knowledge of DAX functions for building measures, calculated columns, and tables and understanding of what kinds of problems are appropriate to each of these
• Ability to create custom business applications such as model-driven or canvas apps
• Ability to deploy PowerApps solution from development to production environments using variables
• Ability to design and implement automated workflows using Power Automate
• Integrate Power Platform solutions with SharePoint Online and other 365 services
• Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals or Developer Certification preferred
• Python skills preferred or ability to learn Python required
• Ability to develop and maintain Extract, Transform, and Loading (ETL) processes
• Ability to comprehend business drivers and challenges faced by clients, and able to quickly learn how to extract value from these drivers
• Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal communication skills
