Lead, Collaboration Systems

Reporting to the Manager, Productivity Systems, the Lead, Collaboration Systems (the “Lead”) will lead a group of high-performing and highly motivated O365 engineers responsible for operating and growing Teck’s enterprise collaboration infrastructure.

 

The Lead requires a wide breadth of technology experience and expertise ranging across all O365 services and products including on-premise infrastructure. As well as managing the performance, workload and direction the Collaboration Team, the Lead will contribute to solutions design and implementation, produce detailed documentation, provide awareness and cross-training for other teams to drive adoption of the modern workspace environment across the organization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • You will drive the advancement of Microsoft Teams and support the advancement of the overall Modern Workplace portfolio, encompassing the Microsoft 365 suite, Teams, and telephony.
  • Architect and operated a complex large-scale geographically distributed Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Provide input and recommendations on areas of service improvement both from a technical point of view, but also from a process perspective.
  • Demonstrated functional knowledge and technical expertise in Microsoft 365 technologies and how it interacts with Azure identity and security
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of on-premises Exchange environments and O365 migrations.
  • Lead technical discussions with internal teams that drive decisions and implementation. 
  • Staying current on Office 365 features and capabilities including availability, reliability, performance, monitoring, backup, and security
  • Fundamental understanding of Cyber Security, identity hygiene and how they relate to the modern workspace.
  • Collaborate with other internal teams to drive integrated solutions with a focus on driving value.
  • Reporting and KPI statistics gathering to complement service ownership
  • Proactively anticipate service issues before they occur and be able to drive suggested changes to execution.
  • Provide mentoring and leadership to colleagues, sharing knowledge and experience through formal and informal knowledge management initiatives. 
  • Help recruit new team members.

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary Degree, diploma or relevant experience required.
  • Relevant Microsoft Azure, GCP or AWS certifications.
  • Deep and demonstrated understanding of the Office 365, including but not limited to:
  • Exchange on-premises to Microsoft 365, Skype/Lync to Skype Online or Teams
  • Teams telephony.
  • Azure AD, Active Directory & Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)
  • Enterprise Mobility + Security (i.e. Intune, Azure AD, ATP)
  • OneDrive, Teams, Yammer, Skype for Business, Intune
  • O365 licensing.
  • 10+ years working as part of a dynamic technical team in a large complex corporate environment
  • 5+ years working with O365 and Collaboration systems
  • Demonstrated experience using PowerShell, including error handling, to manage the M365 suite.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities are a must
  • Passion for technology and how it can enable individuals and organizations to achieve more.
  • You are a highly driven passionate person who consistently exceeds goals and expectations.
  • Communication and collaboration, organizational, presentation, explanation, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in influencing others, including decision makers.
  • Curiosity, listening, and discussing skills.
