Business Analyst Co-op, Strategy, Planning and Performance

For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who have a background in Business Administration / Commerce, Economics, Information Technology, Data Science, or Finance. The Business Analyst Co-op will work closely with the Senior Business Advisor to drive performance reporting, metric tracking, and process improvements aligned with our Management Operating System. This role is ideal for someone who is strategic by nature, analytically inclined, detail-oriented, and passionate about the intersection of business and technology. You will gain exposure to real-world scenarios around strategy, planning and performance in a multi-national corporation and develop and present consulting-level presentations, while leveraging your practical programming capabilities to streamline analytical tasks.
If you are not currently located in the area of this co-op position, you must be willing to either commute or relocate to the surrounding area for the entire duration of the co-op term.. You must also currently be a student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term (you will also be returning back to the post-secondary institution once the co-op term is completed). Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.

Salary Range: $4,000 - $5,100 / Month
Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.
Responsibilities
- Safety & Compliance: Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Performance Reporting: Lead the coordination and execution of performance routines—including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting—aligned with the TDS Management Operating System (MOS)
- Data Analysis & Dashboard Creation: Collaborate with stakeholders to collect, verify, and analyze performance data. Develop and maintain performance dashboards and visual reports using Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, etc.
- Communication & Presentation: Create high-quality, consulting-level slides for leadership presentations and performance reviews. Present and clearly communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Process Enhancement: Identify performance gaps and trends to support decision-making and process optimization. Maintain and enhance documentation for performance management processes, including SOPs and process maps
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with internal partners across Finance, HR, Communications, and Organizational Change Management to ensure performance insights integrate with broader business initiatives
- Technical Support: Use a foundational understanding of programming to automate or streamline parts of the reporting process in collaboration with technical teams to enhance data accessibility and visualization. Embrace a learn-on-the-job mindset for evolving technical requirements
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Business Administration / Commerce, Economics, Information Technology, Data Science, or Finance.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Power BI and SharePoint is a plus.
- Demonstrated passion for the intersection of business and technology, with practical understanding of programming concepts.
- Proven ability to create polished, consulting-level presentation slides.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to clearly communicate data-driven insights.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated, with a proven ability to learn new technologies and methodologies on the job.
- Experience with process mapping or business process improvement is an asset.
- Familiarity with performance management frameworks, key performance indicators (KPIs), or business operating systems is a plus.
- Case Competition Experience would be an asset
