Senior Shutdown Coordinator

Trail, BC, CA

Reporting to the Superintendent Shutdown Execution & Planning the Sr. Shutdown Coordinator is accountable for planning, managing, scheduling, implementing and monitoring shutdowns within Trail Operations and for the development, formalization and implementation of systems for shutdown management.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Owning shutdown cycle which includes: documenting, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementing project controls
  • Providing leadership in turnaround execution improvement which includes: reducing outage frequency, continued safety improvement, continued cost efficiency, and schedule optimization
  • Coordinating with Trail Operations’ various operational areas and stakeholders
  • Explore new and appropriate technologies to improve shutdown execution
  • Delivering training to personnel within the shutdown team
  • Leading shutdown review processes to capture lessons learned and driving actions to capture improvements

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 5 years work experience in a similar heavy industry environment
  • Affinity and operational knowledge with production, process technology, and engineering
  • Proven leadership skills in an operational, construction and/or shutdown environment
  • Experience in developing maintenance job plans, project and/or maintenance schedules would be an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Proficient with MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and MS-Project
