Senior Lead, Environment Water Treatment (Temporary)

Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, Environment Water Treatment, the Senior Lead, Environment Water Treatment (Temporary) will lead a team of technical professionals who are responsible for managing environmental risks and satisfying    requirements associated with multiple individual operating treatment facilities. This is an 18 – month maternity leave backfill.

 

To be successful, we are looking for someone with strong technical experience, outstanding critical thinking, and complex problem-solving abilities. Someone who has strong technical writing, presenting, data analysis, reporting skills and communication skills. A leader who can provide guidance and mentorship to their team, has experience with conflict resolution, can make quick decisions in day-to-day operations. We require someone with high attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to effectively prioritize demands in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Provide day to day senior operation decision-making support to the Water Operations team on regulatory engagement, risk identification, risk management, balance of competing risks, and incident response
  • Lead decision-making support through the commissioning phases of projects to manage and mitigate environmental and regulatory risks and provide leadership during incident response
  • Advance work on emerging regulatory and environmental risks and issues to arrive at resolutions 
  • Supervise and provide day to day mentorship, support, guidance, and development to increase team expertise and drive continuous improvement
  • Provide integrity and leadership to foster a culture of teamwork between the Environment Water Treatment, Water Operations, and Water Projects teams

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or other related field or a relevant combination of education and experience
  • Minimum seven years demonstrated ability providing technical leadership on regulatory and environmental issues related to water treatment or resource management
  • Experience supervising or leading a team
  • Solid technical understanding of environmental risk management practices and systems related to water quality, quantity, and aquatic receptors
  • Knowledge and experience with federal and provincial regulations and compliance practices related to water quality and quantity, water management, and resource development

Salary Range: $115000.0 - $142000.0

 

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.

 

Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
