Senior Coordinator, Health & Safety

Reporting to the Lead, Health and Safety, the Senior Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the continual improvement, development, implementation, and alignment of the Coal Business Unit (BU) Health and Safety Management Systems. This role will focus on High Potential Risk Control, in particular Critical Control Management Systems, Vehicle Safety Strategies, and Safety Analytics and Technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Lead and serve as a technical resource while developing, coordinating, and promoting health and safety across multiple sites 
  • Support alignment between operations and the BU, by incorporating Health and Safety Management systems/process, policies, and procedures into the daily operations
  • Manage key Health and Safety projects and ensure management of spend, timing, and scope, accounting for each stage of project design, execution, operational readiness, and sustaining activities
  • Define, execute, and prioritize a site roadmap of Health and Safety initiatives 
  • Lead the integration of effective organizational change processes at the site level

 


Qualifications:

  • Occupational Health and Safety diploma/degree or an equivalent degree program is preferred 
  • A CRSP/NCSO/CSP or equivalent designation, or in process of attaining, would be considered an asset 
  • Minimum five years in mining, or operational experience in construction or other heavy industry
  • Strong digital literacy, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite® Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Power BI
