Recruiter, Human Resources

Reporting to the Supervisor, Coal Talent Acquisition, the Recruiter will be responsible for working with the Central Recruiting and Human Resources teams to support the hiring initiatives of Teck.



  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Work in a large, dynamic, outgoing, enthusiastic, and collaborative team of professionals dedicated to all recruitment activities required to fill all staff and hourly placements across Teck
  • Utilize the full recruitment lifecycle to ensure the highest quality of candidates are placed
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all Hiring Managers and Human Resources
  • Take ownership and manage support teams to ensure pre-employment requirements are completed, including reference checks and drug screens
  • Maintain computer based recruitment tools, including online tracking systems, posting and advertising, job descriptions, interview profiles, screening criteria, selection documentation, applicant correspondence, job offer letters, and reports as needed
  • Assist with our nationwide Campus Recruitment Program, conducted at post-secondary institutes across Canada
  • Assist with high level sourcing strategies, including Search Engine Marketing, print, online, social media, coordination of career fairs, and industry events
  • Travel daily and for extended periods as required
  • Ensure recruitment activities are carried out in compliance with Canadian law



  • Business or related degree
  • Three years of direct Recruitment or Talent Acquisition experience  
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high energy, team based environment where superior interpersonal, social skills, communication skills, and professional etiquette are required
  • Comfortable and adept at public speaking in front of large audiences
  • Strong problem solving, organizational, and  multi-tasking skills are essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office® Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to operate with very high levels of integrity and confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must
