Processing Supervisor

Reporting to the Processing General Supervisor, the Processing Supervisor is responsible for managing an hourly crew at the coal processing plant to meet safe production objectives in an efficient manner. The position follows a 4x4 schedule rotation of day and night shifts. 

 

To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who enjoys collaborating with multiple teams and personnel at all levels of the organization. This person would demonstrate strong technical skills and professional integrity as they work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Supervisory skills and the ability to multitask would be vital for success.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Administer the collective agreement, safety, mine, and environmental regulations in a manner consistent with policies and procedures
  • Lead and empower individuals in achieving operating targets and expectations, while maximizing employee performance through coaching and feedback
  • Supervise all aspects of the coal processing plant to meet safety, quality and production targets 
  • Coordinate and prioritize the activities interconnected with process operations teams to meet efficiency, quality, and safe production targets
  • Coordinate train allocation with logistics team
  • Monitor tailings ponds and lead or conduct daily inspections
  • Work closely with the Outside Supervisor to maintain environmental compliance


Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain HSRC supervisory ticket if not currently held 
  • Experience within a processing plant facility 
  • Minimum two years experience in supervising an hourly workforce 
  • Possess a technical and operational background in water, tailings, and stockpile management, such as pumping requirements and critical asset inspections
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite®: Excel, Word, Outlook 
  • Minimum two years experience within the mining or similar industry is an asset

Salary Range: $114,000 - $141,000

 

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.

 

Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
