Payroll Administrative Assistant

Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the Payroll Analyst by reviewing payroll information from our SAP system to ensure employees are paid accurately and payroll is processed in a timely manner.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with strong communication skills, can work with other departments and is willing to provide support to our key stakeholders. The individual will have strong attention to detail and a proven ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision. This role requires the ability to problem solve and meet key deadlines while using our computerized payroll software.

Responsibilities:
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Review employee timesheets to ensure accuracy and compliance with Line Creek’s Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Respond to general queries from employees, supervisors, and support departments
- Assist in reviewing and processing payroll information in our SAP system while ensuring the security and timeliness of bank transfer payroll files
- Assist in preparing and submitting Income Tax, CPP, and EI in accordance with government legislation
- Assist in facilitating month end payroll reporting
- Assist in preparation of Gain Share, Profit Share, Trades Retention, Vacation pay adjustment and other annual payroll responsibilities
- Assist with employee on-boarding, processing terminations, and ROE’s
- Assist with year-end payroll system and government requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year experience working in payroll, accounting or finance
- Excellent digital proficiency, particularly in the Microsoft Office Suite®; Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with experience in Payroll applications
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification is an asset
- Degree or diploma in related field is an asset

Salary Range: $56,000 - $69,000
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
