Senior Advisor, Shareholder Development


Red Dog, AK, US

Reporting to the Superintendent, Human Resources, the Senior Advisor, Shareholder Development is responsible for overseeing shareholder development initiatives, performance management, proposing, developing, managing, implementing and administering of programs and activities that advance the development of NANA Shareholders. This position will also support the Superintendent, Human Resources in providing Human Resources support to the Operations and Management.  

Rotation Schedule will be two weeks on-site and two weeks off-site


  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Reporting to the Human Resource Superintendent, the Senior Advisor Shareholder Development will be responsible for monitoring and reporting NANA shareholder development progress to the Employment & Training Committee and providing regular progress reports to the Red Dog Management Committee.
  • Identifies, administers and implements a variety of development programs for NANA Shareholders at Red Dog.
  • Administers the Shareholder Development program through the provision of guidance to managers and supervisors, the writing of work development plans, the coordination and/or facilitation of career development counseling and career development programs, and auditing for the compliance and effectiveness of the program.
  • Administer the accelerated NANA shareholder leadership development program
  • Access workforce development needs across the property
  • Work with departments, supervisors, management to ensure formal and informal shareholder development programs are established in each department
  • Establish relationships with external businesses and organizations to promote and support shareholder employment and development efforts.
  • Work with departments to effectively identify, encourage and work with shareholders interested in development opportunities.
  • Provides relief for the Superintendent, Human Resources when needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required


  • Must be a NANA Shareholder who owns stock in NANA Regional Corporation, Inc.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development or related discipline preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree and 10 years of management experience.
  • A minimum of 3 year of supervisory experience.
  • Experience developing and administering Employee Development programs is required
  • Knowledge of state and federal Labor and Employment Laws is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, editing, organization and interpersonal skills are a must
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situation as well as build positive relationships with Shareholders and partners.  
  • Must be able to operate in a strict climate of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required
