Container Management Operators

Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for Container Management Operators x3.

Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, the Container Management Operator is responsible for cleaning and inspecting empty containers, collecting empty containers, performing month end container counts, updating container databases and other duties as assigned.

Rotation schedule will be two weeks on-site and two week off-site. 

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Operate heavy equipment which includes, but not limited to:

Hyster V1050, Forklifts, Tractor/Trailer, Medium Sized Vehicles, 966 loader

  • Collect, clean and inspect shipping containers
  • Maintain container database
  • Prepare items for southbound shipment
  • Promote high standards of housekeeping and safety
  • Works directly with team members during shipping season

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have a positive and safe work history
  • Must have a valid and current Drivers License
  • Basic computer skills
  • Previous equipment experience
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card
  • Must be service and team-oriented and exhibit sound judgement
  • Possess a high level of urgency to get work completed while keeping safety at the forefront
  • Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment
