Electrical Planner

Electrical Planner

We are currently seeking an individual in the role of Electrical Planner in our Mine Maintenance department.


Reporting to the Mine Electrical General Supervisor, the Electrical Planner is a key team member in developing, supporting, managing and controlling all aspects of planned work identified for the Mine Maintenance Department. This position is required to work four 10-hour day shifts.

 


Responsibilities:
•    Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety rules and procedures; 
•    Demonstrate courageous leadership by promoting a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with Teck Health, Safety and Environmental Programs and the BC Mines Act;
•    Participate in regular meetings with the General Supervisor to establish priorities, and to discuss maintenance problems, safety, costs and productivity;
•    Coordinate with Maintenance Planners, Mine Operations and Engineering to produce a weekly schedule for the Mine Electrical Group
•    Assist with development and maintaining of a rolling electrical schedule in conjunction with the Electrical Scheduler, focusing on equipment criticality and proper work identification; 
•    Implement, maintain, and fine tune appropriate maintenance planning and control routines to ensure maximum equipment and manpower utilization at minimum cost; 
•    Manage work order backlogs for accuracy and details required to properly advance the work through the planning process; 
•    Scope all aspects of pre-job requirements, including parts, labour resources, permits, drawings, facilities, support equipment, special equipment and tooling, instructions, etc.; 
•    Maintain a long term forecast, focusing on key equipment, components and major work 
•    Commission and decommission equipment and their maintenance programs; 
•    Assist with the development and maintenance of cost forecasting, budgeting and analysis; 
•    Work consistently with the tradesmen to create detailed work packages, especially for routine work, to further build those captured packages into our system; 
•    Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of our processes and systems, bringing forth visibility and continuous improvement opportunities to the Maintenance Department.


Qualifications:
•    Journeyperson Electrician, Electrical Technologist or Engineer;
•    3-5 years’ scheduling or planning experience;
•    Excellent management and people skills;
•    Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
•    Experience in a mining industry is an asset.
•    Experience with CAT 7495, P&H 2800 XPA/XPB/XPC & P&H 4100 XPC A/C Electric rope shovels is an asset
•    Experience with CAT 49RII, 49RIII and HR electric rotary drills is an asset 
•    Experience with PLC’s (Allan Bradley, Siemens Step 7) is an asset
•    Experience with a CMMS such as JDE or Maximo is an asset
•    Grade 12 or GED certification equivalency;
•    Valid driver’s license (minimum BC Class 7N or equivalent);
