COVID-19 Screening Technician (Temporary)

Reporting to the COVID-19 Response Team Lead, the COVID-19 Screening Technician will work as part of the COVID-19 screening team to administer the sample collection, coordination of screening clinics, processing of rapid COVID-19 tests, and reporting of test results as part of the ongoing commitment to Everyone Going Home Safe and Healthy Every Day.

 

This is a temporary position dedicated to being a resource for COVID-19 pandemic response. The schedule will involve a four on, four off rotation of twelve-hour dayshifts. This is a 3-6 month temporary contract.

 

To be successful we are looking for someone with highly effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to and connect with a diverse range of stakeholders. Someone with the ability to work well both as a team and individually, who is self-motivated and capable of working under minimal direction in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Administer COVID-19 nasal swab collection as part of a COVID-19 rapid antigen screening program
  • Processing and analysis of COVID-19 rapid antigen tests
  • Coordinate COVID-19 response and facilitate the contact tracing process
  • Educating workers on public health requirements in the event of a positive COVID-19 result
  • Fulfill reporting requirements on COVID-19 to public health and other required stakeholders
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of worker health and personal information

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Completion of Occupational Level 1 First Aid
  • Strong computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite®, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience in Health or Medical fields considered and asset
