IT Change & Knowledge Management Specialist (Contract)

Reporting to the Manager, Service Management, they will be responsible for supporting standard methodologies of service management processes based on ITSM constructs, ensuring efficient and effective IT service delivery across Teck. This role will drive continuous improvement. Specifically, they will provide support for Change Management process, facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes, and Knowledge Management practices to improve service quality and customer happiness.

 

This is a 12-month contract to start. We are a hybrid workforce with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote based out of our head office in scenic downtown Vancouver.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures

 

Change Management:

  • Lead all aspects of ITIL-aligned Change Management processes to ensure controlled and efficient handling of IT changes.

  • Evaluate, coordinate, and oversee the execution of changes to IT services, minimizing risks and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

  • Conduct impact analyses, risk assessments, and post-implementation reviews to support continuous improvement of the change process.

  • Maintain the Forward Schedule of Change (FSC) to prevent service disruptions and conflicts.

  • Facilitate training for all users to ensure platform adoption

 

Change Advisory Board (CAB) Management:

  • Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate regular CAB meetings, ensuring all proposed changes are reviewed and approved in a structured manner

  • Collaborate with partners, including technical teams and business units, to evaluate risks and impacts associated with proposed changes

  • Prepare meeting agendas, distribute relevant documentation, and record minutes, decisions, and follow-up actions

  • Communicate CAB outcomes to relevant partners in a timely manner

 

Knowledge Management:

  • Lead the Knowledge Management process, ensuring the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of knowledge articles

  • Work with IT teams and SMEs to document key processes, solutions, and standard methodologies

  • Promote the use of self-service knowledge resources to reduce incident resolution times and improve service efficiency

  • Monitor knowledge base usage, gather feedback, and analyze performance metrics to improve content quality and accessibility

  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and documentation standards

 

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in IT Service Management, focusing on Change Management and Knowledge Management

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset

  • Deep understanding of ITIL frameworks, particularly in Change and Knowledge Management

  • Superb communication, facilitation, and partner coordination skills

  • Analytical thinking with a focus on risk assessment, process improvement, and performance metrics

  • Proficiency in ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy) and knowledge management platforms (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint)

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail

  • Experience facilitating CAB meetings and collaborating with multi-functional teams

  • ITIL Foundation certification preferred
