Job Summary:

 

NewRange is searching for an executive assistant with previous experience for the NorthMet and Mesaba Cu-Ni-PGE projects, located in northern Minnesota. Reporting to the General Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing schedules, coordinating meetings and events, handling correspondence, and performing various administrative tasks.

Overview:

 

Located in the historic iron range mining region of northeastern Minnesota, NewRange is a joint venture between Teck and Glencore that is advancing two major copper-nickel-platinum-palladium deposits, NorthMet and Mesaba. Project activities range from readying the prefeasibility stage NorthMet project for a to advancing the nearby Mesaba project to pre-feasibility studies and permitting.  NewRange is committed to unlocking a new domestic supply chain of critical metals for the transition to a low-carbon economy and positioning Minnesota as a world leader in sustainable mineral resource development.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Be a courageous safety leader, leading by positive example, and adhering to and sponsoring safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage General Managers calendar, including scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
  • Arrange and coordinate meetings, conferences, and events, including preparing agendas, organizing logistics, and taking meeting minutes.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, screening and directing inquiries, emails, and phone calls to appropriate parties.
  • Draft, proofread, and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents as needed.
  • Make travel arrangements, including booking flights, accommodations, transportation, and preparing travel itineraries.
  • Manage expense reports, receipts, and invoices, ensuring timely processing and reimbursement.
  • Organize and maintain paper and electronic files, records, and documents, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Provide administrative support for special projects, initiatives, and research as assigned.
  • Assist in the management of office supplies, equipment, and facilities, coordinating repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as an executive assistant or similar administrative role, preferably supporting C-level executives will be considered an asset.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience or experience in a role with transferrable skillsets.
  • Previous SAP experience will be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with executives, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Ability to work well with all people regardless of personal ideological and/or ethnic backgrounds, and/or political party affiliations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks, including document preparation and data entry.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and independently.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings or events.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific terminology and practices may be preferred depending on the organization.
