Reporting to the Manager, Health and Safety the Health and Safety Coordinator will be tasked with ensuring the highest standards of health and safety at various legacy (closed) sites, This role involves working closely with site manages and project teams to conduct risk assessments, implement safety protocols and support safety initiatives, to ensure a safe working environment.
Responsibilities

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.

Support legacy team as a safety subject matter authority in occupational health and safety regulatory compliance requirements.

Support the development and maintenance of site and project risk assessments.

Deliver safety training programs and workshops.

Provide incident response and investigation support.

Maintain accurate and organized records.

Provide support to the emergency response coordinator and site teams in the development and maintenance of emergency response plans. Participate in emergency response plan tests.

Work closely with project managers in developing safe work plans.
Qualifications

Completion of a college or university program related to safety practices.

Minimum 5 years relevant and related industry experience in a health & safety role.

Strong digital literacy, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite® package: Excel, Word, Outlook.

Strong interpersonal, leadership, planning and communication skills, and ability to speak in front of groups.

Able to travel within Canada and the US with little restrictions.

Class 5 Driver’s License with no restrictions.

Incident Command Systems 100 or higher is an asset.

Salary Range: $92,000 - $99,000
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
