Reporting to the Coordinator, Environment, the Technician, Environment Systems is responsible for assessing environmental conditions related to air and waste management and ensure compliance with site air and waste permits at Line Creek Operations.

This person has outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and can engage, build, and maintain internal and external relationships. Equally strong abilities in working independently and in a team, while remaining positive and motivated in outdoor, remote locations is vital.

Responsibilities:
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Liaise with other departments to build relationships to effect positive change in air and waste management practices on-site
- Manage monitoring programs related to the management of and compliance with site air and waste permits
- Management of monitoring and sample collection equipment and instrumentation
- Understand permits and associated requirements
- Carry out environmental data entry, review and management
- Lead field investigations and inspections
- Coordinate contractor management to ensure work is being conducted safely and in accordance with the project scope
- Supervise environmental projects related to the management of and compliance with site air and waste permits
- Develop and review Environmental Protection Plans, field level risk assessments, and other risk management tools
- Analyze field and analytical data to draft technical reports and communications
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in a related industry area, such as Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Technology or in an Earth Sciences field, such as Biology, Geography, Forestry, and Agriculture
- Experience in environmental compliance or monitoring in the resource industry
- Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations, standards, and effective industry practices
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite®
