Senior Process Engineering Supervisor

Reporting to the Business Improvement Processing Superintendent, the Senior Process Engineer Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of process engineers in identifying and quantifying processing area improvement initiatives across the business unit (four sites). This role is focused on being a leader in change management and project execution. 

 

To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills who can build and maintain strong relationships across multi-disciplinary teams; someone with a keen interest in developing leadership, and mentoring others. This role requires an individual with sound judgement, and exemplary analytical and problem-solving abilities, who can own their role by taking initiative and staying accountable for delivering strong project outcomes in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ability to effectively inspire change and drive innovation is vital for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Lead a small team of engineers to identify and implement procedures or equipment to improve the efficiency and throughput of the process
  • Proactively evaluate and propose improvement opportunities
  • Analyze performance data and provide recommendations to improve our operations
  • Provide technical input to projects relating to the improvement and modification of our processing facilities
  • Secure the resources necessary to deliver successful project outcomes
  • Coach and mentor Process Engineers within the Business Unit

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
  • Minimum eight years of related experience
  • Experience with project management with a successful track record of delivering strong project outcomes
  • Experience with change management and innovation
  • Training in coal processing and handling techniques will be provided as needed
