RBS Technical Writer

Reporting to the RBS Training Lead, the RBS Technical Writer, is responsible for creating documents, eLearning and other training materials to support learning. This role is pivotal to fostering accelerated change, drive improved performance, and enable more effective decision-making across our organization.

 

To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. This person must have passion for collaborating with multiple departments, teams, and product experts to find solutions and produce world-class training materials. The successful individual would also have high attention-to-detail and organization skills and remain positive and motivated in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ability to translate technical and complex content into an engaging and comprehensible format to a variety of audiences would be vital for success in this role.

 

This position may be based out of any Teck location in Canada and will follow an attractive Monday to Friday schedule with alternating Fridays off. Come experience what work life balance is all about!

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Create, edit and maintain documents pertaining to learning objectives and the specifics of computer applications products, such as User Guides, Release Notes, and in-platform documentation
  • Understand functional design documents and translate into product functionality and business process
  • Ensure consistency in training documentation across product suite and ensure all written materials comply with Teck’s standards and branding
  • Monitor metrics on the usage of training materials; use customer feedback to provide direction for improvement to future training initiatives
  • Monitor metrics on the usage of training materials; direct customer feedback to prioritize future training investment

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years' experience in technical writing and e-learning design or development
  • Experience working with eLearning tools and a Learning Management system
  • Strong experience owning an end-to-end documentation creation process
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite®
  • Experience with Success Factors and People Central would be an asset
  • Experience with interactive e-learning software, such as Articulate or Camtasia would be an asset
