Accounting Cost Analyst

The Accounting Cost Analyst is responsible for supporting operational decision-making, optimizing the use of financial systems, coordinating transaction processing, and financial reporting activities.


The recipe for success in this role is someone who is detail oriented with strong organizational skills, with the ability to break down sophisticated processes into simpler tasks. We are looking for someone highly motivated with excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making abilities; who can communicate effectively and build relationships across our company.

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Provide financial data and perform cost analyses to find opportunities, efficiencies, and waste, including trend and variance analysis
  • Explain and mentor department heads on financial performance versus plans
  • Coordinate month-end activities and prepare budgets and forecasts
  • Review and validate financial reports and respond to financial queries


  • CPA or accounting designation, or working towards
  • Minimum three years’ experience in operational Accounting or Finance, preferably within a mining or manufacturing environment
  • Analysis and reporting experience
  • Financial accounting experience and International Financial Reporting Standards knowledge or experience is an asset
  • Excellent digital literacy, particularly in the Microsoft Office Suite®: Outlook, Word, and Excel. ERP systems experience, especially Microsoft AX, is an asset
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and querying large databases and data warehouses would be an asset
