EH&S Coordinator

Reporting to the Senior Environment Health and Safety Coordinator, the EH&S Coordinator is responsible for supporting and developing TSR’s EHS program for harm reduction and risk management by providing guidance and assistance to employees throughout the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and standards, and ensuring stakeholder views are considered.

•    Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
•    Participate in the development and management of effective H&S and environmental programs
•    Contribute to the maintenance of a safe workplace by regularly inspecting work areas, reporting on practices and conditions found and following up 
     on issues identified including advising 
     and supporting management in implementing and maintaining safe working practices
•    Apply continuous improvement processes and systems to enhance H&S and environmental performance at TSR
•    Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable H&S and Environmental legislation and applicable standards, as well as 
     corporate H&S requirements, to ensure compliance
•    Prepare routine written reports to management and ad-hoc special reports on safety performance problems, as circumstances dictate
•    Lead or assist in carrying out incident investigations to identify corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
•    Provide coaching, mentoring, communication, and support to staff at TSR to create and maintain a safe workplace and advance the safety culture
•    Develop and deliver virtual and in-person H&S training to all levels of personnel
•    Carry out H&S and environmental audits as part of TSR’s internal auditing program
•    Administer TSR SiteLine safety tracking system
•    Manage external H&S contractors, including 3rd party hygiene support
•    Manage relationship with environmental regulators, administer TSR environmental permitting, and participate in regulatory inspections and 
     reporting as required
•    Seek and develop novel ideas to enhance the H&S program and culture at Teck


•    Demonstrated leadership in and passion for Health and Safety
•    Hold a college diploma or university degree in Occupational Health & Safety or other relevant academic field, possess equivalent years of relevant 
     industrial experience or;
•    Hold CRSP designation or are currently pursuing accreditation
•    Must have at least 3 years of H&S work experience in an industrial environment
•    Highly organized and detail oriented with strong analytical skills
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•    Proficient with MS Office
•    Experience with HAZOP and various Risk Assessment methodologies
