Environmental Coordinator

We are looking for someone with the ability to stay organized and thrive in a fast paced, team environment. Who has strong analytical and decision-making abilities with a capacity for practical problem solving. Most importantly, we require someone who has outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, who can help engage with surrounding Communities of Interest. The position also requires a broad base of scientific knowledge, technical skills, and environmental project management experience to be successful.




  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures;
  • Support sampling and monitoring programs to confirm compliance and environmental conditions;
  • Support the reclamation, monitoring and other field programs;
  • Support air related activities including dust management, monitoring and reporting;
  • Support water and erosion and sediment control programs;
  • Support the implementation and operation of environmental management systems;
  • Support recycling and waste management programs;
  • Develop and review regulatory compliance and sustainability reports;
  • Database administration and support; 
  • Support engagement with Indigenous governments and organizations; 
  • Collaborate closely with site departments to facilitate environmental education and compliance assurance; 
  • General duties as assigned.



  • Diploma or Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Studies, Earth Sciences (Biology, Geography, Geology, Forestry, Agriculture), or Natural Resource field;
  • Minimum two years of experience in the field of environmental compliance or monitoring, in an industrial environment;
  • Experience with environmental data management software (GIS/EQuIS) and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite®;
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental and waste legislation, standards, and effective industry practices;
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license, with the ability to safely operate different equipment;
  • Ability to work efficiently with little supervision and work independently in outdoor remote locations.
