Reliability Engineer

Location:  Elkford, BC, CA

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Supervisor, Maintenance, the Reliability Engineer will provide engineering assistance for maintenance, project management and reliability functions in order to maximize the efficiency and utilization of the mobile mining equipment fleets. This function will include feasibility studies for replacement, acquirement, and installation of new equipment and technology. 

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Apply engineering principles concerning the safeguarding of life, health, property, economic interests, the public welfare or the environment
  • Support the Mobile Equipment Monitoring (MEM) application from the system hardware to leading continuous improvement efforts
  • Act as a project lead for maintenance initiatives
  • Drive the predictive and preventative maintenance process (PM), including data translation and analysis including report generating
  • Participate in and advocate for Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) applications, including interpretation of CBM data
  • Coordinate, interpret, report and communicate failure analyses through various data sources
  • Track and report reliability Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and manage the overall bad actor program and processes
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency of the maintenance department by performing other technical functions as assigned by the Senior Engineering Supervisor, Maintenance
  • Other responsibilities as required or as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required with preference give to those with electrical or mechanical experience
  • Already designated, is eligible for, or working towards, registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of British Columbia 
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite® package and Solidworks® 3D modeling software; experience with Microsoft AX would be an asset
  • Experience with mobile equipment, mechanical and electrical systems 
  • Minimum 4 years’ of work experience in mining; previous experience in open pit, truck and shovel operations is advantageous
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as effective interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Supervisory and mentoring experience would be a definite advantage
