Reporting to the Lead, RACE21™, the Organizational Change Leader (known at Teck as Operational Readiness Specialist) is responsible for coaching and mentoring staff to ensure RACE21™ initiatives are operationally ready and implemented in a sustainable fashion, with a focus on preparing employees for change at our Greenhills Operation. You will work closely with partners at site to develop and implement organizational change and operational readiness plans that will support effective execution and sustainment.


To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, who can influence and build consensus with teams across all levels and proficiencies of the organization to facilitate effective decision-making. Someone who is a motivated self-starter, organized, and able to prioritize contending demands and thrive in a constantly evolving environment.

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Assist the RACE21™ site teams with organizational change and operational readiness planning, development, and execution
  • Provide organizational change and operational readiness mentorship and training to site personnel
  • Develop, update, and deliver training materials to prepare the operations for successful implementation of RACE21™ initiatives
  • Coordinate communication initiatives with idea owners and site leadership
  • Track plans including partner analysis, change readiness, change impact assessment, change activities, and training documentation
  • Flag and monitor initiative implementation risks and work with idea owners to plan and execute mitigation whenever possible
  • Ensure adoption of organizational change and operational readiness plans



  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business, or other relevant subject area
  • Minimum three years’ experience in continuous improvement, project management, or relevant mining operational roles
  • Ability to present, and to influence and facilitate a group to move towards a common goal
  • Change management experience (strategic and tactical)
  • Previous operational readiness or management consulting experience is an asset
