Processing Supervisor

Reporting to Processing General Supervisor, the Processing Supervisor (known at Teck as Outside Supervisor) is responsible for assigning all outside work and backfilling the Breaker Supervisor to meet safe production objectives in an efficient manner. The position follows a 4x4 schedule rotation of day and night shifts.

This person would demonstrate strong technical skills and professional integrity as they work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Supervisory skills and the ability to multitask would be vital for success.

Responsibilities:

•    Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
•    Administer the collective agreement, safety, mine, and environmental regulations in a manner consistent with policies and procedures
•    Lead and empower individuals in achieving operating targets and expectations, while maximizing employee performance through coaching and feedback
•    Backfill Breaker Supervisor for raw coal supply and efficiency to the processing plant to optimize plant throughput 
•    Coordinate and prioritize the activities interconnected with process operations teams to meet efficiency, quality, and safe production targets
•    Coordinate and communicate stockpile and reclaiming strategies with Processing Supervisor and Logistics teams
•    Monitor pumping and/or dewatering systems; coordinate solutions in collaboration with facilities, plant maintenance and processing teams
•    Monitor tailings ponds and lead or conduct daily inspections 
•    Work closely with Processing Supervisor to maintain environmental compliance

Qualifications:

•    Minimum two years’ experience within the mining or similar industry
•    Must be able to obtain HSRC supervisory ticket if not currently held by applicant
•    Experience within a processing plant facility or breaker facility 
•    Experience in supervising and managing contractors 
•    Possess a technical and operational background in water, tailings, and stockpile management, such as pumping requirements and critical asset inspections
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite®: Excel, Word, Outlook
