Data Analyst

Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Specialist, the Data Analyst is responsible for bridging gaps between business and technology by aligning project partners and translating business needs into robust solutions. This role requires hands-on analysis with excellent customer service to develop positive relationships with clients, solution architects, developers, and external partners.

In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to develop reporting and analytical capabilities through digital toolings and subject matter expertise! You will also be exposed to enterprise-wide governance and assurance modelling. Finally, you will play a key role in the delivery of digital tooling products that support core maintenance functions and will inspire change across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Provide Business Level Ownership of Digital Access Tooling for Teck Maintenance, including prioritization of enhancements based on business value
  • Perform research using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and workflow analysis
  • Coordinate data analysis, User Acceptance Tests, generate dashboards, data visualization and reports, monitor critical metrics, and deliver support as required
  • Identify issues and propose resolutions, advancing to appropriate personnel as needed
  • Develop business cases and Proof-of-Concept for addressing business improvement initiatives, including the consolidation of reporting activities

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Commerce, or Finance, or other related field, or a technical diploma with a combination of relevant experience
  • Minimum two years experience in delivering solutions and relevant business analysis
  • Experience in modelling software, such as Excel, SQL, Data modelling, Relational Databases, Big Data, and modern analytical tools such as Tableau, Spotfire, or Power BI
  • Experience with database management in the areas of requirements gathering, prioritization, quality assurance, user training, and task management strategies is an asset

Salary Range: $80,000 - $99,000

 

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.

 

Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
