Senior Technical Specialist, EAM

Teck’s central Asset Management team provides expertise, support, and builds capability at Teck’s mine sites, enabling them to operate and maintain their assets for the maximum benefit of the business. This team of reliability and maintenance professionals collaborates with site teams and industry partners to develop and implement effective strategies for maintaining Teck’s physical assets. Using validated methods and innovative solutions, Asset Management helps ensure that equipment operates reliably and safely, and that maintenance is done right, at the right time, for the right reasons.

This role plays a key function in the corporate Asset Management team and is focused on the functionality of the corporate EAM system. The Asset Management team is based in Calgary and interacts with all of Teck’s operating sites every day.

The Senior Specialist, EAM is the maintenance representative coordinating site prioritization of CMMS improvement initiatives, promoting common standards and practices across Teck sites, and chairing the Work Management User group. They will work closely with leaders, key users at Teck operations, and other central team members driving process adoption for work management, supply chain, reporting and analytics. As an influencer in the organization, it will be critical to build effective relationships with all levels from, trades to senior leaders. This is an exciting position within Teck’s corporate Asset Management team; a group of highly capable people with multifaceted knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

 

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures

  • Chair the EAM User Group. The Group is composed of key users at each site and the corporate Digital Systems team. The Group is currently prioritizing work management, but could expand to support supply chain in the future
  • Prioritization of improvement initiatives with the user group and RBS. These could be anything from bug fixes, to actual changes to site working processes and the corresponding system changes to support
  • Change management activities remotely or at site
  • Drive definition and justification of improvement initiatives
  • Handle approvals for user acceptance testing and help coordinate site approvals. Getting sites to agree on the definition prior to testing is vital to success
  • Promote system adoption at operating sites. Some travel to sites will be required
  • Coordinate with all the peripheral systems such as reporting, master data, etc.
  • Identify standard processes and promote adoption at other sites

Qualifications

 

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial (preferably mine) maintenance. Open to complementary experience that can bring alternative ways of handling industrial work

  • Experience implementing process change at an operating site is an asset
  • Experience with EAM implementation in an industrial setting is an asset
  • Spanish proficiency is an asset
  • Ability to travel to site as needed
  • Will be expected to follow site PPE requirements

Salary Range: $117,000.00 - $144,000.00

 

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
